I Hate it when…

It really pisses me off when people chew with their mouth open. It isn’t polite and sanitary for those around you. People that do this either don’t have have bad manners or just doesn’t care about the well-being of others. Just hearing and looking at the slimy food in their mouth really pushes my buttons. It may not seem like a lot but that little thing can change my whole perspective about that person. The worst thing is, they don’t even realize they are doing it. Their parents, or whomever raised them, haven’t done a great job teaching their kid(s) about proper eating manners.  I usually won’t get mad at the person chewing with their mouth open if it is he or she’s first time being asked to stop chewing with their mouth open. However, if there is a constant reminder and I have to constantly ask, we might have a problem.

People that are aware that they chew with their mouths open and do nothing about it should really take not only this but all manners more seriously. It is important to learn your manners at a young age because if you want a place in this world you are going to need to use your manners to help get to where you want to be. For example, if you are applying for a job and have your job interview. The first thing your employer is looking for is your manners. It is almost impossible to find a job that won’t require proper manners. So the people that bluff this off and don’t take this problem seriously will eventually regret it because they will be struggling to find their place in this world.

What can one do to protect it’s Reputation?

judge

Being a teenager in high school can be hard knowing that you are constantly being judged by your peers around you. Teens feel pressured by others because they want to fit in the “norm” and are too afraid to be themselves. It is kind of hard to blame them because it is true. It is human-nature that we judge other people. It isn’t out of the ordinary. That is just the way people think and function. People in general, not just teens, shouldn’t worry about the way other people judge them because it will make them feel bad if they do. If they constantly let others judge them it will eventually get to their head and it will cause them to act a different way other than themselves.

A lot of people these days lie about who they are as a person because they don’t want others to know who they really are. They think that they will be judged in a poor manner. People need to know that people are going to judge and if they start talking behind your back, just know that they are behind you for a reason. In fact, some of the most successful people in the world don’t care about what others think. They had to learn to look at the positives in life rather than the negatives. Even if you tried changing your reputation, it is merely impossible to do so because people will always remember the bad things. Even if you have completely changed, people will always look at the bad. It is kind of sad the way society works. Also, even if we do judge someone, we should keep it to ourselves and not publicize others imperfections. Let’s treat others the way we want to be treated.

What do i want to be when I grow up?

40641_grow-up

A common childhood question that your parents/teachers asked you when you were a child was “What do you want to be when you grow up?” A lot of the times some kids would tell their parents what they want to hear instead of telling them what they really want to be. Some kids already know what they want to become and have already figured out a plan on their future. But mostly kids don’t know what they want to become or just haven’t put much thought into it. We are now juniors and its around that time when we start taking our SAT’s and ACT’s. We should already be thinking about what majors and what career we would want to take in the future.

What We Can Do To End World Hunger…

Our society is extremely spoiled. Most of us don’t have to worry about the lack of food on our tables. If we want food we just go to the grocery store and buy some. We are so reliant on these grocery stores because we expect them to have food without ever having to worry if we are going to have food on our plates. But what if grocery stores ran out of food? How would we survive? Would we survive? What if you had a family to take care of but there were no grocery stores to provide any food? This is the same adversity Wang Lung had to go through in Chapter 8 in the Good Earth book.

Where has the time gone?

Dang.. it’s already junior year. It feels like freshman year was just yesterday. Even though that may sound cliche, it is the honest truth. All the things that seemed so far away are now here in just a blink of an eye. Getting your drivers license, taking the SAT, looking at colleges, its all here. It’s crazy to think that we’ll be graduating high school and be shipped off to college in just 2 yrs. Realizing this made me appreciate the little things a lot more and appreciate my time as I am still in high school and with my friends. It also made me more aware of what I need to accomplish now so that I enjoy the better things in the future. Your whole life is pretty much depends on how well you do in these 4 yrs of high school. That’s why it is important to not slack off on your studies, so that you can get into a school that you want and do the things that you want. It’s important to suffer now so that you can benefit in the future. Guidevisement at FVHS also really inspired me to get my grades up this semester. They show’d us the different types of Colleges and which College is right for you. Not everyone is ready to go to college after they graduate high school. Some attend Junior Colleges first and then transfer to a college of their choice. It doesn’t make them any less “smart” or “successful” as anyone else. It is best to know what is best for you. Only you can decide what’s best. You are your best critic.
