It is finally here, after dodging Manny’s request to fight for several years, Floyd Mayweather finally agreed to fight. This fight is expected to get $350 million off of just paper-view earnings. Even though Manny Pacquiao and Floyd are in their older stages and are on their decline this fight is going to bring boxing back after it has been on a little decline. This fight will go down in history because of how much pride is going into this fight. Manny Pacquiao is fighting not only for himself but for the country of the Philippines. Floyd Mayweather is fighting for his legacy because he has a history of dodging other prized fighters because he is afraid of tarnishing his own “undefeated record.”

Manny Pacquiao is fighting for the whole country of the Philippines. He started his professional boxing career as a 16 yr old kid, barely making the weight class. He admitted that he put weights in his pockets so he could make it. But still being smaller than every boxer he faced, he wasn’t fazed and managed to demolish every boxer in sight. In 2001, he got his big break and managed to enter in his first professional tournament in the United States against Ledwaba. Ledwaba was a lot bigger than him and the announcer before the fight was already counting him out and were questioning why he was even fighting. Once the fight began, the whole boxing world was in awe. Manny’s speed stunned the boxing world. He ended up winning by TKO and a super star was born.

Floyd Mayweather, on the other hand, grew up in the states. He also started his boxing career at the age of fifteen. To this day he still hasn’t lost a fight. Many sports analysts believe that the reason why he hasn’t lost any fights is because he would always choose the weaker fighter to go against. Even though he hasn’t lost a fight, he has many haters around the world. Mainly because he acts like a douche bag on national television and on social media.

“This fight is going to be the greatest fight in boxing history,” so said Floyd Mayweather. As the date nears, tensions rise and the trash talking begins to settle. Both fighters are focused and determined to write their own legacy once they step in the ring. On May 2ND, we will witness who will be the Champion of the World.
